Snow and ice on roads and in our parking lot!
Will we have to cancel? How will everyone find out?
Inclement Weather Policy
Revised January 10 2012.

SUMMARY

We urge members to make their own decisions about whether it is safe to travel to the church from their locations. Use good judgment about attending!

If the event is canceled, the local radio station, WBNT, 105.5 FM, will be asked to broadcast the notice with its other cancellations. An update will be added to the church’s voicemail about the cancellation, or the pastor will be available to answer calls via call forwarding from the church phone.

MORE INFORMATION:

We no longer use the closing of Scott County Schools as a guide to cancellation of events at the church. Instead, the pastor and other church leaders will decide if the event (for instance, choir rehearsal) needs to be canceled, based on likely conditions at the time of the event.

If the event is canceled, the local radio station, WBNT, 105.5 FM, will be asked to broadcast the notice with its other cancellations. Also, an update will be added to the church’s voicemail about the cancellation, or the pastor will be available to answer calls via call forwarding from the church phone.

Sunday morning worship will be held if the pastor can reach the church safely, either on foot or by car, since several members live within walking distance. In most cases of inclement weather on Sunday morning, Sunday school will be canceled, since teachers may not be able to attend. Again, if there is inclement weather, listen to WBNT or call the church, 663-3456, for information on cancellations.

As always, we urge members to make their own decisions about whether it is safe to travel to the church from their locations. Since we serve such a wide area, some members will find bad road conditions in their part of the county even when road conditions near the church are fine. Use good judgment about attending!
